Chaparral 2D

The 1966 Le Mans No. 9 car. Unfortunately retiring after 111 laps.

Much was expected of the 2D at Le Mans after its sensational win at the Nurburgring 1000K two week earlier. It reached 5th before retiring before midnight with a broken alternator.

The 2D was the first of the 2 series designed with a closed cockpit and exclusively for endurance racing.
