Almost there with new moulds

17/03/2022

Bit behind schedule this week but almost there, the moulds for the Elan bodyshell is done so the first resin body will be out of the mould today. Then we will make a convertible version I think. The Mk.1 Jag is just about there and should be going on the car page soon. It will be our first model with a 3D printed chassis. Oh did I mention we got a 3D printer? Don't worry, we won't be doing bodies on it but for our chassis and other things it is ideal. Look at us getting with this new fangled tech. We will also be moving have our motor pods 3D printed. We are using an ABS-like resin which is nice and strong but still has some flex.

As far as bodies are concerned I will still be carving them by hand and moulding them in resin, I enjoy carving model cars and with 50 years experience I am getting the hang of it. I think the results are pretty good anyway.

Back to new models, as mentioned the Mk. 1 is nearly there, the Elan is just waiting on decals, as is the E-Type, the frogeye will also be back on the car page soon.
The Mini Marcos is coming along nicely, strange model but quite pretty. Then the Rover BRM?
