Jaguar D-Type

The No. 14 car raced at Le Mans in 1954 as the short nose version, coming second. Driven by Hamilton and Rolt.

The new D-Type closely followed aircraft design, including the concept of a structural monocoque. 

At the time it was a prime example of aerodynamic excellence. Achieving 172mph on Mulsanne straight, 12mph faster the winning Ferrari.
